Vincent Family Adventures: Louisiana Renaissance Festival

This weekend we took the kids to the Louisiana Renaissance Festival in Hammond! The last time I went to the festival was when I was in high school so it’s been quite a while. But I do remember having such a fun time! It’s a little bit of a drive so I usually talk myself out of going but lately I’ve been pushing past that comfort zone. So we packed up and headed out!

Y’all- we had the best time! The costumes, shows, activities and food were awesome. There was a ton to see and do! Jousting, shows, fights, games and food. They had it all. The kids had the best time. I think their favorite was mining for gemstones.

We also tried a turkey leg for the first time and they really enjoyed that. I wasn’t a fan and was quite disappointed but now I know! Next year I will for sure be grabbing the Dole Whip IN A PINEAPPLE. You read that right, my friends. How amazing does that sound?

The kids (and my big kid- my husband lol) tried a couple of the games too.

We really had a great time! If you’re local I definitely recommend going. Insider tip though- bring cash! They do have ATM’s on site but I am all for avoiding a fee when I can. Also, it appeared that they allowed outside food and drink in but I am not 100% certain of this. It was something different than we usually do and the kids had a blast . They have requested that we make it a tradition now. I’m not complaining!

Then on our way home we stopped by Steak n Shake. A fun fact is that I worked there when I was in high school (and hated it!). However, I still love the food so it was a fun little reminiscing time. The kids didn’t complain about the milkshakes either.
